Communicating with the Allen School Community
Guidelines and pointers

John Allen Parent Council members have numerous reasons for wanting to communicate with the rest of the school community: to publicize an event, call for volunteers, or invite participation in committee work. The primary channels of communication are e-mail, Facebook, backpack mail, and the parking lot announcements sign.

Allen Weekly Message (School Messenger), To help streamline communication and minimize email to your inbox, your Parent Council collaborates with your school to provide important updates to be included in the weekly email you receive from Allen.  Note: With the introduction of the Principal's Allen Weekly Message, individual email has been paused.

Facebook group, Allen Elementary Community: we utilize our Facebook group as a way to get up-to-date information out quickly, generate positive discussion about events at Allen, and create a positive community for our families. Please join our group even if it is the only Facebook involvement you do it is worth it if you want to be up to date on Allen activities.

Please inform Parent Council if you have something you'd like to distribute. Share with them the text of the announcement (e.g., e-mail, letter, or flyer). This will help them coordinate communications, ensuring there are no duplicate and/or conflicting messages sent.
